One of our most popular programme options at college level is our Innovation Diploma in Youth Leadership, taught in partnership with Youth Alive, the youth department of British Assemblies of God.

This course is taken along with Mattersey Hall's overall three-year BA degree. The programme has five special distinctive elements:

Teaching – delivered by Youth Alive UK personnel (including Glyn Barrett, Stuart Keir, Paul Reid, Sophia Barrett, Rachel Waddams and more).

Mentoring – provided by individuals recognised by Youth Alive to be of proven quality and ability who will input into your life throughout your three year course. The Youth Alive mentoring programme will be a relational experience to enable you to develop your potential, to stay sharp and focused, and provide accountability in your personal and leadership development. This support is in addition to the extensive mentoring built into the college’s regular programmes and schedules.

Practical Training – including a week-long city-mission each year with Youth Alive which you will not only take part in but also help to run and organise.

Placement – on completion of the course Youth Alive will interview you to find out your gifts, strengths, desires and dreams, and seek to place you with a church, ministry or organisation, which will allow you to function in your gifts and reach your potential. Again, this service is offered in addition to the college’s own regular support systems.
