Submitting Assignments

All assignments are now submitted electronically in PDF format. All major word processors are capable of saving or printing to this format. You may download the new interactive PDF coversheet from here. In addition, to fill in this coversheet  correctly, you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader X. If you do not have this, it can be downloaded from here. A full guide to electronic submission is provided here

  1. (1) Save or print your assignment to PDF format, using a name made of the module code, assessment number, your student number and submission date (as dd.mm.yyyy) followed by "(script)", separated by single spaces, e.g. “BIB401 2 1234 17.09.2011 (script).pdf”.
  2. (2) Download an electronic coversheet, open with Adobe Acrobat and fill in all fields above the dotted line.
  3. (3) Attach your script to the appropriate box using the paperclip (attach) control in the "Comment" pane.
  4. (4) Press the submit button. Select “Internet Email” option. When prompted, save the file using the same naming pattern as the script, except stopping at the date, e.g. “BIB401 2 1234 17.09.2011”. You may copy and paste the generated proforma in the upper right area of the cover sheet if desired.
  5. (5) Email the resulting file from your college address to undergrad_assignments@MatterseyHall.com, using the filename as the email “subject”. Please note that this latter point is essential if your work is going to reach the marker.

The system makes exhaustive error checks, including on the module and assessment numbers. If you receive an error message, you must correct the problem immediately and try again. A receipt attesting submission is only sent when any errors have been eliminated, and only when this is issued is your work deemed to have been received and sent for marking. All submissions with errors are discarded.

Please note: Students with a registered disability may now identify their status on the coversheet (D=dyslexic, S=visually impaired, H=hearing impaired, L=other learning disability, P=physical disability). Such self-declarations will, however, be checked against tutorial records. All are welcome to change the background colour of their work to whatever provides best readability. Any other special submission arrangements will be communicated individually.
