John Andrews, Moving Beyond Mediocrity
As we seek to move from one level of development to another, from a small place to a something bigger, from containment to expansion or from average to excellence, the journey necessary to accomplish this will almost certainly carry with it the 'violence' of discomfort, the tremors of change and the challenge of living beyond the confines of our previous experience.
Moving Beyond Mediocrity is a book written to help us negotiate such a journey. Too many want to arrive at destinations of success cheaply and easily. They want glory without pain, recognition without rejection, prosperity without generosity and as much success with as few shakes as possible. However, as someone once said, ‘there are no short-cuts to anywhere that’s worth going.’ Though God’s plans for us are hope-filled and glorious, the journey to them will not be without turbulence. The serious pilgrim seeks to understand this truth and settle it within them once and for all.
Moving Beyond Mediocrity is available from the college for just £6.99 plus p&p.
Other books by John Andrews, including Truthformation, Rest, Love and Mission is Like a Box of Chocolates, are available from ESB Resources.

Glenn Balfour, A Step-by-Step Introduction to New Testament Greek
Glenn Balfour has taught New Testament Greek at Mattersey Hall since 1990. Over the last five years he has gradually developed his own set of notes and teaching methods for this at times difficult and complex subject. The culmination of this is the publication by Mattersey Hall of a new and exciting New Testament Greek textbook, A Step-by-Step Introduction to New Testament Greek. The book may be purchased from Mattersey Hall for £20.00 (plus p&p).
This is what the eminent scholar and author Dr. John Drane writes about the book: 'A Step-by-Step Introduction to New Testament Greek is accessible for students who begin their study of New Testament Greek not only with no previous knowledge of Greek, but no understanding of classical English grammar either. I am happy to commend this book to both teachers and students. It will stretch the minds of both, and enhance the experience of studying the New Testament in its original language.'

William K Kay & Anne E Dyer, Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies: A Reader
The Pentecostal and Charismatic movement is one of the miracles of the 20th century. Without government support, without an advertising campaign, often without the notice of journalists and academics, and sometimes in the face of persecution and ridicule, this religious movement has spread its message around the world and now attracts in the region of 500 million people. Many of its original and formative documents are unknown and out of print. Here, in this unique collection, are samples of the original writings by Pentecostals and Charismatics from the last 100 years.
This Reader examines the historical beginnings of Pentecostalism and its diversification over the course of a century, allowing students of Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies, for the first time, to examine for themselves, the original writings of key figures from the movement – these papers until now were out of print, unpublished, or held in specialist archives. Extracts are contextualised by the editors, and chosen to illustrate turning points in the movement’s history, as well as highlighting key figures and representing Pentecostal and Charismatic traditions.
This book is available from the college for £20.00 plus postage and packing. Click the button below to purchase it.
