Mattersey Hall is situated in a quiet village in rural north Nottinghamshire, not far from Sherwood Forest, home of the legendary Robin Hood. This means we are well situated for pleasant country walks, and fishing, horse riding and wind surfing are available in close proximity.

Mattersey is just five miles from the A1 and most parts of the country are readily accessible by fast motorway transport. It is only a 90 minute journey to London by train. The nearest local amenities are available in the market town of Retford, just six miles away, and the rather larger and more bustling old railway town of Doncaster. With England’s fourth largest and friendliest city, Sheffield, within comfortable driving distance, students have access to international-standard sporting facilities, top-flight music and theatrical venues and some of the best shopping in England at Meadowhall.

Other major cities nearby include Nottingham, Lincoln, Leeds, Bradford and York, with the nearest international airport being the brand-new Robin Hood Doncaster-Sheffield Airport, just a short drive from the college. There are also number of significant and progressive churches of a variety of traditions in the region which students are encouraged to visit and learn from during their time at college.
