BD (King’s College, London), MTh PhD (Nottingham) Principal
Glenn came as a student to Mattersey Hall in 1982, at the age of 18. While there he completed a Bachelor’s degree with King’s College, London and met his future wife, Caroline. Following their studies at Mattersey Hall, Glenn and Caroline moved to Newark. Here Glenn served at Emmanuel Church for seven years as Associate Pastor. During this time he also completed a Master’s degree with Nottingham University and began lecturing at Mattersey Hall on a part-time basis. Glenn and Caroline then moved to Cambridge, where Glenn served at Tenison Road Church for seven years as Senior Leader. He also completed a doctoral degree with Nottingham University, and took an increasing role at Mattersey Hall as a part-time lecturer. In 2000 Glenn took up a full-time post as Director of Studies at Mattersey Hall and Caroline took up the post of Office Manager. (It is often Caroline’s voice you hear if you telephone the college.) Glenn has recently been appointed as Principal of the College and continues also as a senior lecturer in the subject areas of biblical languages and New Testament. Glenn’s teaching specialism is the biblical languages – especially New Testament Greek – and New Testament studies. He has made several contributions to the Tyndale Bulletin and is a regular reviewer for Journal for the Study of the New Testament and Expository Times. He is also the author of A Step-by-Step Introduction to New Testament Greek (2005) and an accompanying Memory Aids publication. At present he is working on A Verse-by-Verse Commentary on the Greek text of Mark’s Gospel. Glenn has developed a national and international teaching ministry in various churches and other colleges and serves on the leadership at Now Church, Langold.
Glenn and Caroline have four children who are all teenagers or in their early 20’s – Rebecca, Nathan, Daniel and Hannah.
