DMin: this programme requires a number of taught modules (to be examined by essays) and a dissertation of approximately 50,000 words. For part time students, the taught phase takes two years and the dissertation phase a minimum of three years, though candidates with an appropriate and relevant Master's degree may be exempt the taught phase. Full time students may complete the whole programme in three years (or two years if they are given exemption from the taught modules).

Although there are no formal residence requirements for part-time study, overseas students should expect to visit the UK for contact with their supervisor both in the pre-registration period and subsequently. The viva (or oral examination) will take place in the UK.
