Training Matters

Everything we do at Mattersey Hall is aimed at training you, whether this is through theological lectures, classroom interaction, mission trips, mentoring sessions, ministry experiences or the whole host of other services we provide.

Although at the moment you are only starting to think about coming to Mattersey we are already thinking about when you leave Mattersey, and putting systems in place for you to be as prepared as you can be to enter into the rest of your life and ministry. This mindset has helped us to put together a programme that offers all students the option of gaining full ministerial accreditation with the Assemblies of God GB whilst studying for their degree. With Mattersey Hall and the AoG working closely together on this programme we are confident that you will receive high end practical training which will help enhance your ministry when you graduate.

For those not able to give up three years of their lives to full-time training, a recent development at the college has been our ability to deliver Short Courses, running just one to two weeks in length – in practise, just four to eight actual days to take out from your schedule. Most of our First Year subjects can be taken as a Short Course of your choice, with subjects ranging from Old and New Testament and Christian doctrine, to the practical nature of preaching, missions, counselling and chaplaincy.  These courses are available for those not on an accredited course with us, with local churches often sending in members of their congregation or staff to help them up skill. If you are interested in these courses then please see the Short Course page and contact the Mattersey Hall office.

We are already thinking about when you leave Mattersey, and putting systems in place for you to be as prepared as you can be to enter into the rest of your life and ministry.
